The VTNF module implements temporal filtering to improve visual quality and video compression efficiency of typical video source sequences.
The module works in YUV420 NV12, NV21 and YV12 formats, accepts a current frame input, previous frame input, and generates a filtered current frame output.
The module it is one of the coprocessors inside SIMCOP subsystem, relying on SIMCOP DMA to read/write blocks of current frame input/output and previous frame output, and using shared memory to exchange data with DMA and other coprocessors. Figure 9-194 is an overview of the VTNF module in the SIMCOP subsystem.
