The PRU_ICSSG UART0 can employ autoflow control by connecting the UART0_CTS and UART0_RTS signals. The UART0_CTS input must be active before the transmitter FIFO can transmit data. The UART0_RTS becomes active when the receiver needs more data and notifies the sending device. When UART0_RTS is connected to UART0_CTS, data transmission does not occur unless the receiver FIFO has space for the data. Therefore, when two UARTs are connected as shown in Figure 6-227 with autoflow enabled (UART_MCTR[5] AFE = 1h), overrun errors are eliminated.
