3.11.1.5 USB RAM

Note: Control of the USB RAM can only be given to the CPU if the USB module is not used by the system. If the USB Clock is not enabled (USB_A in the PCLKCR11 register), then the C28x CPU can use the USB RAM freely. Since this is the state of the USB clock enable at reset, the user is free to link compiled code to this region if desired. Once the USB clock enable is set, the C28x CPU no longer has access to this RAM.

The USB module has 2KB of message RAM embedded locally and exclusively accessible by the USB module when the USB clock is enabled.

In systems that do not use the USB, the CPU can use the RAM directly as long as the USB clock is not enabled. There is no other control bits needed for the CPU to access this RAM.
