15.3.2.1 Global Software Trigger

This ADC supports synchronous global software triggers. Synchronous global triggers allow the application to trigger SOCs on multiple ADC instances that are exactly simultaneous in time. To generate a global software trigger, configure the analog subsystem register ADCSOCFRCGBSEL to select the ADC instances to be triggered, then write to ADCSOCFRCGB to trigger the desired SOCs simultaneously on each ADC.

For example, to trigger SOC0, SOC1, and SOC2 on ADCA and ADCC:

  1. Set ADCSOCFRCGBSEL.ADCA = 1 and ADCSOCFRCGBSEL.ADCC = 1 by writing 0x5 to the ADCSOCFRCGBSEL register.
  2. Trigger SOCs 0, 1, and 2 by writing 0x7 to the ADCSOCFRCGB register.
