The following is a description of the registers used for communication between System ROM and Application (or SSB). The HAPI described above act upon these registers.
Note:
- The state of these registers is persistent across
device reset.
- The state of these registers is not persistent
across a power cycle. Therefore, if power is lost
during an update operation, either HSM FW Update,
App Update, or SSB Update, there is a risk that
the device is not able to boot the next stage (App
/ SSB).
- Secure Boot clears Sector and ID fields after
reading them to perform the requested
operation.
- Secure Boot sets the Status field, but the
Application (or SSB) is responsible to clear
it.
