13.3.2.2.7.2.2 AES Operations

AES Operations require the following inputs:

  1. Address of data word(from the command or calculated for burst command).
  2. AES mode along with the Key size, Key and IV.
  3. RD or WRT transaction type.

The AES operation produces a data word which is encrypted or decrypted. The MAC operation produces a MAC for Read and Write operations.

The table below (Table 13-201) defines the possible combinations of Encryption modes and Authentication modes. A total of 9 combinations are possible, but not all of them are supported.

Note: GCM is AES-CTR + GMAC and CCM is AES-CTR + CBC-MAC.
