3.3.4 Passing Structs and Unions

Structures and unions 32 bits or smaller are passed by value. Structures and unions larger than 32 bits are generally passed by reference, as described in Section 3.6. However, see Section 2.7 for additional cases where structures and unions are passed by value when using FPU32 or FPU64.
