The Low-Frequency Subsystem (LFSS) combines several functional peripherals under one shared subsystem. These peripherals are clocked by the low-frequency clock (LFCLK) or need to be active during low-power modes. The low-frequency clock has a typical frequency of 32kHz and is mainly intended for long-term timekeeping. In some devices, the LFSS is powered by a separate battery backup power domain called PDB, and the device will have a physical VBAT power pin present.
