9 Power Supply Recommendations

The UCC28730 is intended for AC-to-DC adapters and chargers with input voltage range of 85 VAC(rms) to 265 VAC(rms) using flyback topology. It can also be used in other applications and converter topologies with different input voltages. Be sure that all voltages and currents are within the recommended operating conditions and absolute maximum ratings of the device.

The DRV output normally begins PWM pulses approximately 55 µs after VDD exceeds the turn-on threshold VVDD(on). Avoid excessive dv/dt on VDD. Positive dv/dt greater than 1 V/µs may delay the start of PWM . Negative dv/dt greater than 1 V/µs on VDD which does not fall below the UVLO turn-off threshold VVDD(off) may result in a temporary dip in the output voltage.
