PRODUCTION DATA
The devices provide two differential external reference input pairs, REFP0, REFN0 and REFP1, REFN1. The differential voltage between REFPx and REFNx (x = 0 or 1) establishes the reference voltage for the ADC, VREF = VREFPx – VREFNx. The differential reference inputs allow freedom in the reference common-mode voltage. However, the polarity of the reference voltage must be positive. That is, VREFPx needs to be larger than VREFNx. Follow the requirements in the Recommended Operating Conditions for the absolute and differential reference input voltages.
On ADS1x4S18 REFP0, REFN0 and REFP1, REFN1 inputs are combined with the AIN14, AIN13 and AIN16, AIN17 pins, respectively. AIN13, AIN14, AIN16 and AIN17 can still be used as analog inputs, even when the inputs are configured as external reference inputs.
