The Texas Instruments BQ27Z855 Dynamic Z-Trackgas gauge solution is a fully integrated, accurate 1-series cell gas gauge, protection, current limiter, and authentication solution.
The BQ27Z855 device provides a fully integrated pack-based solution with a flash programmable reduced instruction-set CPU (RISC), safety protection, current limiter, ideal diode controller, and authentication for 1-series cell Li-ion and Li-polymer battery packs.
The BQ27Z855 gas gauge communicates through an I2C compatible interface and combines an ultra-low power RISC processor, high accuracy analog measurement capabilities, integrated flash memory, high-side NMOS FET drivers, and ECC ECDSA and SHA-2 authentication to provide a complete, high-performance battery management solution.

Battery Management Studio (bqStudio) offers a full suite of robust tools to assist with the process of evaluating, designing with, configuring, testing, or otherwise utilizing TI Battery management products. This includes features that provide full access to registers and data memory including support for real-time watching, graphing, and logging, an easy interface to send commands, direct low-level communication and I/O, as well as automated and guided support for configuration, calibration, performing a learning cycle, and generating useful files for taking the device to production.
Older products such as bq20xxx and bq30xxx are not supported in bqStudio. Download the specific evaluation software from the appropriate product page.

BQ-BATTERY-PROGRAMMER-SW software development kit (SDK) is a collection of robust software command line tools that assist with the process of programming, testing, or assembling packs that use TI Battery management products. The executables in this software work with the MKST-3P-ALT-EV2300 MKS Technology alternative for EV2300 communications transceiver. The executables work with a single station but can be extended to multiple stations by using additional software and GUI from MKS Technology Inc. . Support for multiple stations is not included in this software.
There are multiple executables in the download, usually one per family of products. Older products such as BQ20xxx and BQ30xxx are also supported. Examples using the C++ programming language API and Python® programming language are provided for custom development.

BQ27Z855-FW is a firmware-only release that can be flashed onto any existing BQ27Z855 hardware. The firmware incorporates the patented Dynamic Z Track™ technology to create a pack-based solution that provides a rich array of features for gas gauging, protection, and authentication for 1-series cell Li-ion and Li-polymer battery packs.
BQ27Z855-FW includes integrated linear charger functionality to manage linear charging during Charge mode and ideal diode during Discharge mode. Using its integrated high-performance analog peripherals, BQ27Z855-FW measures and maintains an accurate record of available capacity, voltage, current, temperature, and other critical parameters in Li-ion batteries and reports this information to the system host controller over an I2C compatible interface. SHA-1, SHA-256, and ECC authentication, with secure memory for authentication keys, enables identification of genuine battery packs.
