This video will cover the advantages of the INA1620 with integrated thin film resistors and built in EMI filtering. By combining precision match resistors with the best in class operational amplifier, the INA1620 will provide an unmatched audio experience. For this training, I'm going to go into more detail on how the INA1620 improves common mode rejection ratio while saving you money. When an off-ramp is used as a difference amplifier, it subtracts the two inputs, thus reducing any common mode noise that may have been added to the inputs. The ability of an amplifier to do this is called it's common mode rejection ratio or CMRR. The higher absolute value of the CMRR, the better the amplifier rejects these common mode noises. A digital-to-analog converter may add distortion that is common to both outputs. An output circuit with high CMRR will cancel these harmonics out and reduce total distortion. The CMRR of a circuit depends heavily on the matching of the resistors used in the circuit. The INA1620 has a guaranteed max resistor tolerance of 0.02%. The calculated minimum CMRR it will provide is approximately 74 dB. The [? OPA1622 ?] with [? 0402 ?] thick film resistors and the INA1620 using integrated thin-film resistors were tested for their CMRR. The measured CMRR can be seen in the graph on the right. The [? 0402 ?] resistors showed a CMRR of 48 dB while the integrated resistors of the INA1620 showed a CMRR at 93 dB. This means the resistors of the 1620 used in this test had closer to 0.001% matching. If you wanted to achieve this sort of matching with an external then film resistor array, you would need to pay around $2 all the way up to $34 for two resistor arrays. With the INA1620 you get four resistor arrays with two high performance [? op-amps. ?] You will also not have to deal with the long lead times associated with these resistor arrays, since you will be getting them included with your amplifier. By combining the resistor arrays into the IC, we are able to save our customers time and money while giving them outstanding sound quality.
